License Restricted Parts
A number of parts that Lego produces are made to represent specific items or characters from an intellectual property. For some of these parts, Lego is contractually bound to only use the part for sets based upon that IP. You would not expect Darth Vader's helmet to appear as anything but Darth Vader's helmet, right? These spreadsheets document parts which have only appeared in one theme or related Intellectual properties, and clearly represent specific things. If these are used in a project on Lego Ideas, they might replace the part, or if the part plays a major role in your design, you might have a lesser chance of passing review.
Some parts in the spreadsheets are not obviously restricted (Like Darth Vader's Helmet is). One such part was the Orc Sword which appeared exclusively in Lord of the Rings and Hobbit sets until 2015. In 2015 it appeared in a Ninjago set, Airjitzu Cole Flyer. This example of a piece, which is very clearly based on a Uruk-Hai sword, appearing outside it's original theme means that not every piece that appears on these lists is actually restricted. There is always room to push the boundaries with a cool piece!
The information in these spreadsheets includes LDD numbers for ease of use, common names, official names, Brickset numbers with a link to the Brickset/Rebrickable page, sub-theme, and the year the part was introduced. These spreadsheets take a while to make, so there are only four currently available.
Here's a screenshot of what a spreadsheet usually looks like.
