It feels like a lifetime since 21109 Exo-Suit was revealed a few years ago and ever since then I have been eagerly awaiting it. Thankfully I received it as a gift and the set does not disappoint, actually surpassing my already high expectations.
THE BOX
The 26x19 cm box is the usual Ideas/Cuusoo high-quality design. The front features the image picture we've seen already: the Exo-Suit, the turtle and the two minifigs. On the back a couple of surprises are revealed, things that I didn't know were included in the set: two yellow barrels and some sort of base, which I think is for primarily for the turtle to stand on.
The Completed Model
The greebling at the top of the arms uses two 'Holder 16 Mm' arms affixed to a 1x1 'lamp holder' but unfortunately the arms are not a tight fit on the studs of the lamp holder and I found it hard to keep them together. The claw are connected using a tan light sabre blade fixes the forearm to the Technic connector inside the barrel, see here (which I found to be kind of fickle) Construction is enjoyable, although at times fiddly, as you'd expect given it has so many small parts and bits of greebling everywhere, and prone to error if you're not careful.
There's a lot of articulation in the limbs and it can be posed in many ways, as I have demonstrated above. The rotating heel joints are a mixed blessing: while they make some otherwise impossible poses possible they do sometimes make it difficult to get the thing to stand up straight.
The only minor criticisms I can make concerns all the little pieces that are "added" on the mech and tend to fall off when you pose and play with the set.
Overall
This is an excellent figure. It looks superb from almost every angle, The few issues it has, I have considered do not detract significantly from the figure in my opinion and I do not hesitate to recommend it!
